The use of silicone and/or hormones will not be discriminated against or
considered by judges. No live animals, reptiles, excessive glitter, fire or
water may be used. Contestants must be MALES and at least 21 years of age. 

These are a few of the rules and regulations that one of the six or seven Iowa City hopefuls will have to follow if she makes it to the 21st Annual Miss Gay USofA pageant.

“Its one of the most sought after titles in the nation. Iowa is second only to Miss Gay Texas,” said Dena Cass, owner of the pageant.

Over the years Miss Gay Iowa has grown from having one or two contestants to 24 contenders last year.
