Iowa Arts Festival
June 1-3, 2007

Held each year in downtown Iowa City, the Iowa Arts Festival is a weekend long, free, community festival showcasing over 100 local artists in addition to a music festival, filmmakers showcase, and "Culinary Row."

And don't forget to check out the Global Village, where you can be a part of diverse cultures from around the world.

A children's day is also held, with music, dancing, and crafts. You won't need to leave the kids at home this time!

ART FAIR - June 2nd & 3rd
Over 127 local and regional artists showcase their work in downtown Iowa City, along Washington and Dubuque Streets.
Various mediums are displayed, from painting and sculpture, to jewelry and woodworking.

Used with permission.

Art work is available to purchase, and the artists are on hand as well.

CONCERTS & SHOWS - June 1st, 2nd, & 3rd
Visitors to the Iowa Arts Festival can enjoy free concerts each day of the celebration. Beginning Friday evening, and continuing until Sunday afternoon, live bands from multiple genres including country, jazz, classic rock, and bluegrass can be heard.

Nickel Creek, a mandolin, guitar, and violin trio, preformed in 2006. Check out video footage of their cover of Britaney Spears' "Toxic."

IOWA PICTURE SHOW- June 2nd & 3rd
A part of the filmmakers showcase, the Iowa Picture Show presents "Iowa-centric" films made in Iowa and/or by Iowa filmmakers. Held in a tent theater, the picture show is reminiscent of the drive-in theater.
Many genres are explored, including fiction, documentary, animation, and drama. Screenings are free.

CULINARY ROW - June 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Featuring local food vendors who exhibit a global flavor, culinary row serves up variety of regional and ethnic food. There's Indian and African fare, egg rolls and tapas, and, as always, B-B-Q.
